According to media reports, Toshiba said today that the company’s acquisition of Fujitsu hard drive has been made on anti-trust approval. Previously, Toshiba, Fujitsu has been three times to postpone the transaction.
Toshiba spokesman Keisuke Ohmori said by telephone today that the acquisition has been made all the necessary regulatory approval in Japan and abroad. Toshiba and Fujitsu issued separate statements saying they would on October 1 before the completion of the transaction.
In February of this year, Fujitsu said it would not drive profitable business to Toshiba. In April of this year, Fujitsu hard drive business in the last fiscal year loss of 200 billion yen (219 million U.S. dollars), while Fujitsu will be the price of ¥ 30,000,000,000 to sell its hard disk drive business.
