According to the official website of NEC of Japan, NEC, Casio (CASIO) and Hitachi (Hitachi), today jointly announced on 3′s mobile operations have been merged to form the new company will compress R & D and manufacturing costs.
As early as 2004, Hitachi and Casio mobile phone sector has merged two of the company’s mobile phone unit together form a Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications Corporation (CHMC). CHMC mainly KDDI and Softbank of Japan to provide CDMA mobile phone solutions, Casio digital cameras using their own business and watch the business impact performance for the mobile phone R & D experience to provide relevant technology, and Hitachi, the new company was to provide advanced image processing technology.
The CHMC and the NEC, after the merger will bring more competitive products. Alleged that the new company name will be set at NEC CASIO mobile communications company, the new company will provide a unified brand, strengthening Japan’s domestic and international market operations, improving product competitiveness.
After the merger NEC holding 66% of the company, 17.34 percent Casio, Hitachi, 16.66%. The new company operating until June 2010 will implement the capital increase plan, increasing the share of investment, the three companies in the new company’s shares will be adjusted to NEC: 70.74%, Casio: 20%, Hitachi: 9.26%.
It is learned that after the merger, the company will become the second-largest after Japan, following Sharp’s mobile phone manufacturers.
